Talii debuts “Good To Be Bad” official video

Today, Orlando-based artist Talii has released the stunning official video for new single, “Good To Be Bad.” Watch the video now here

Creating a mesmerizing scene of seductive choreography and electric female energy cloaked in a veil of spirituality, the video brings the song to towering new heights. Talii describes:

  • “This video really brings the song to life! We wanted to incorporate all aspects of what ‘Good To Be Bad’ means to me. To embrace all the ‘taboo’ aspects of a woman that society has conditioned us to believe to be bad or to be ashamed of. The magical, the sexual and the powerful aspects of feminine energy were all portrayed and celebrated so beautifully in this video. Not to mention, it was so much fun to create! I’ve truly never felt so alive and in my element as I was when this video was being filmed. I’m so happy this is what I get to do for a living.”

The arresting dark pop/R&B track was released this spring alongside a feature with Billboard, who called the track “a dancehall-flecked, bass-heavy production that reflects her Trinidadian roots” and said the track finds Talli “tapping into her inner-vixen.”

This spring, Talii was also named one of SoundCloud’s March 2020 ‘Artists To Watch,’ a prestigious title showcasing her fast rise while gearing up for her debut EP release expected later this year. Check out SoundCloud’s feature here.

This May, Talii also released new downtempo R&B track “Hourglass,” first as a SoundCloud exclusive and later across all platforms. Listen here.

“Good To Be Bad” is the follow-up to Talii’s 2019 body-positive single, “Thickness,” which was added to Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds: The Wave’ playlist and premiered on Wonderland, who described the track as “a sensual blend of pop, neo-soul, and R&B, with sutle dancehall tinges.” The song has since been reworked into the “Thickness (Remix)” with a new feature by John Concepcion and debuted with Popdust as a “new twist” on the original track. Talii kicked off a strong 2019 with single “Front Seat,” which pulled influence from her Trinidadian heritage with a meticulous blend of pop/R&B set against a rhythmic dancehall infusion. The track saw praise from outlets like Billboard, who described the track’s “percussion-driven production that pitter-patters like beach waves” while Affinity Magazine called the track “a powerful and bold song that allows the Orlando-based artist’s true colors to shine through.” Listen to the track here + watch the lyric video here.

Born into a family of diversely talented musicians and performers, Talii wasted no time exploring her musical path. She began singing at age 3 and started playing piano and writing songs by age 7. She first made her artist debut in July 2018 with track “Lost,” which was produced by G.Bliz (Teyana Taylor, John K, Darion Ja’Von). Talii later followed with “Mouth,” an addictive track that puts a playful twist on Talii’s signature smooth R&B-meets-soul style.

Telling compelling stories rooted in authentic experiences and bolstered by her smooth and soulful vocal, Talii is a trailblazer in the neo-soul / R&B lane. With support growing on all fronts, including love from the artist community with Pink Sweat$ and John K both showing support, Talii is poised for a breakout year. Keep your eyes peeled for more to come as well as news on a debut EP, coming soon.
